Dr Rajendran Nagappan is a Professor at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in Tanjong Malim, Malaysia. He is also National President of Malaysia Hindu Dharma Mamandram (MHDM), a non-governmental organization serving the Hindu population of Malaysia. Dr Rajendran is currently Director of the Aminudin Baki Center for Global Studies.

Prof NS Rajendren,
we have taken this task of teaching our religion to our young children age 6 to 16 for the past 10 years because temples in our vicinity are not doing enough.Schools are not able to teach.Our programme is based on Vedic Heritage Teaching Programme, we have included from puja vinanam, tirumurais, kural,tamil nanerigal such as Aathicudi, kondrai venthan etc,value education,Iswara tatvam,puranas&ithihasas,Bhg.Gita parayanam and simple meaning. Yoga. All this is done in our house.Lessons are free but we collect a donation of 10RM for annual childrens presentation day. More needs to be done . More teachers need to trained . One disappointment is teachers criticism of sanskrit mantras and prayers sdaying sanskrit is from germany so not indian.Ch. Reddi.
